James McGlynn appreciates the ability of the stock market to provide the highest returns over time but also understands that certainty of cash flow provided by guarantees from insurance companies, pensions and Social Security are also equally important. James managed equity mutual funds as a portfolio manager, but now is focused on converting volatile assets into more dependable cash flows that can be counted on in retirement.
Currently he specializes in designing plans for those preparing to step off into retirement. James McGlynn earned a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1983. He earned a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP) designation in 2015.
James earned a Summa Cum Laude BBA from the University of Texas in Finance in 1980 -before being employed by their endowment fund upon graduation.
James McGlynn was born at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth. He has two children, one of which just graduated from TWU with a psychology degree. He also enjoys swimming, yoga, reading non-fiction, and analyzing movies.
